Jumbuck House

360 Renos

Updated: May 5, 2019

This was another Renovation for Subiaco Executive Terraces, where we transformed this old tired house into a beautiful short term holiday retreat.

We created a small ensuite in one of the main bedrooms, adding additional value to the property as it only had one toilet originally.

We stripped out the old kitchen and opened up the back wall of the property with bi-fold doors, which made the room feel much bigger. By adding the bi-fold doors, we connected the kitchen/dining area to the outdoor entertaining area creating a better flow for the house.

The bathroom was renovated with a laundry incorporated into the design, with a clean high gloss white tile a checkerboard black and white on the floors. This added a bit of contrast and kept with the old character of the house.

This project was a quick turnaround as it was mainly the kitchen, bathroom and ensuite addition with the rest of the house getting a fresh lick of paint and new carpet in one of the bedrooms. The rest of the house had beautiful original jarrah floorboards that just needed a quick sanding and coat of varnish.

As a little additional project, we restored an old jumbuck statue, by request of the owner, which now sits on the front wall of the property giving the house its name.

Jumbuck house was a lovely short term rental property in Subiaco, but has recently sold to a new family who loved the houses charm.
