The property had been left vacant for many years and was stripped of anything valuable, for example, all the copper pipes, door, and even the fireplaces were gone. The house had a terrible musty smell and the most retro carpets and wallpaper we had ever seen.

The entire property was gutted, except the jarrah flooring and the original Australian Kooka in the kitchen, which is where the owner got his name for the beautiful cottage.
